Use AiR from your AI apps
Connect AiR to Claude or ChatGPT and ask in your own words: find a contact, check your day, set a reminder that texts or calls you, and, if you allow it, send a text or have AiR make a call for you.
Section 01
What it does
The app talks to your AiR account through MCP, the standard way AI apps connect to other services. It works only on your own account, and only as far as your settings in AiR allow. You can use it with a free AiR account. If you do not have one yet, you can create it while you connect.
Section 02
Connect Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it AiR and paste this address:
https://useair.net/api/v1/mcp
- Choose Connect. A window opens where you sign in to AiR, or create an account.
- On AiR's screen, check what the app will be able to do, leave texts and calls on or turn them off, confirm you are 18 or older (asked once), and choose Allow.
When AiR is listed in Claude's connector directory, you will also be able to add it from there with the same sign-in.
Section 03
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds a custom connector in developer mode, which is in ChatGPT's settings under Advanced on paid plans. Turn it on, create a connector with the address above, and sign in to AiR and approve as for Claude. When AiR is listed in ChatGPT's app directory, you will be able to add it from there instead.

Section 04
What the app can do
Each line below is a switch under Agents in AiR. The first three are on unless you turn them off. Texts and calls stay off until you turn them on, there or on the sign-in screen. A switch that is off hides those tools from the app.
Contacts- Find a saved contact, and save a new one.
Schedule- See your events, reminders and deadlines on a day, and when you are busy.
Reminders- Set a reminder that texts or calls you, list your reminders, and cancel one.
Texts- Send a text, read the texts AiR exchanged with someone for you, see your AiR lines and data used, get your phone ready for a trip, check whether a number or a text is a scam, and have the app text or call your own phone or ask you a question by text.
Calls- Have AiR call a saved contact or a business, find a business's number, wait on hold with a company and then ring you, schedule a call, and see your call history and each call's result.
Section 05
Things to ask
- “What's on my schedule Friday?”
- “Remind me at 7:30 tomorrow morning to leave for the airport.”
- “Call me at 6:10 every weekday to wake me up.”
- “Text Sam that I'm running ten minutes late.”
- “Call my dentist and ask for a cleaning next Tuesday afternoon.”
- “Wait on hold with my airline for me and call me when someone picks up.”
- “Who called while AiR was screening my calls today?”
- “How much data have I used on my AiR line?”
- “Call Joe's Barbershop in Austin and book Saturday at 10.”
- “I got a text from ‘USPS’ with a link. Is it real?”
- “I'm going to Spain next week. Will my phone work?”
- “Text me when you're done” or “ask me by text before you send it.”
Section 06
Calls and texts
- Your app may ask you to approve each call or text. Whether it does depends on the app and your settings in it.
- AiR says at the start of every call that it is an AI assistant calling for you, and texts you a summary afterwards.
- Texts carry AiR's AI label, at the start or the end as you set it in AiR, unless the text already says an AI assistant wrote it.
- Texts and calls come from AiR's number, not from your own phone number.
- Calls go to US and Canadian (+1) numbers: your saved contacts, other AiR lines and businesses whose number AiR can verify (toll-free, a business caller ID, or the number on its Google Maps listing). A mobile number that is not saved is never called. To call a person for the first time, save them as a contact; the app can do that for you.
- Waiting on hold works with a company's own support line, not a mobile number, and AiR waits up to 45 minutes. Once AiR connects you, connected call minutes count toward your plan.
- One call runs at a time, and calls from apps have a daily limit. Calls and texts use your AiR balance, as they do in the app.
- Calls need a phone number on your AiR account, because that is where AiR texts you the summary. You do not need an AiR phone line.
- When the app texts, calls or asks you something itself, it goes only to the phone number on your AiR account, and only your reply from that phone counts as an answer.
- A scam check is a set of warning signs, not a promise either way.
Section 07
Disconnect
In AiR, open Agents and choose Disconnect next to the app under Connected apps. It is signed out of your AiR at once. To pause every app, set Apps & outside agents to Do not disturb on the same page. You can also remove AiR inside Claude or ChatGPT.
Section 08
Your data
What AiR returns to the app, such as a contact's number or a call summary, becomes part of your conversation in that app and is kept by its provider (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT) under their terms. AiR does not see the rest of your conversation. Details are in our Privacy Statement and Terms.
